Day 7-Lundergan Wedding

Late last night, so the blog comes today :-)

Today was a combination of two firsts. I will explain in detail below...

In 2006 I joined Delta Zeta Sorority, some would argue that it is the best sorority ever! In this sorority were two women I had gone to high school with. Both women were older than me and I wasn't sure they even knew I existed--I soon found out they knew exactly who I was! Emilie and Karli both soon told me they were glad I joined DZ and were rooting for me the whole time.

In October of 2006-our initiation month, our new member class had the privilege of getting "hints" of who our big sis was. I was getting hints, such as "I'm an agriculture major" "I love to study" "I never go out" "I'm not very social"...you get the gist. Let me tell you, I was not excited to find out who this agriculture nerd of a big sis would be.  Well, in order to find out who your big sis is, you go through this scavenger hunt at the Delta Zeta house and get awesome presents along the way. I soon found out my big sis was Karli! I soon asked her if she was really an agriculture major and started hysterically laughing---turns out the joke was one me!  I was so excited for the next four years of my career as a DZ to be guided by none other than Ms. Karli Morie.

Last night I attended Karli and Matt's wedding at the Fox Theater in St. Louis. Words cannot express how beautiful of a day it was and how amazing the ceremony was along with everything else that went into the evening! The decorations, the music, food, the entire atmosphere was electric with love and energy! This was a first for me! I had never been to a wedding at the Fox. I swear it was like something off of a movie set. They got married on the stage, danced in the lobby of the fox, IT. Was. Amazing.

The other first comes to where Jon is concerned. He had never been to the Fox period. I know. I know, many of you are shocked, if you know anything about Jon he's a St. Louis boy at heart. This young man of mine knows every nook and cranny of the St. Louis area, so to find out he had never stepped foot in the Fox!?!? I was as dumbfounded as you! The good news is he got a very good taste of how Fabulous the Fox can be.

What a romantic evening! We ate dinner where the Fox Club would be, had champagne, you name it, we did it. The best part of the evening is when the dancing came...now if you know me, you know that I am not the best dancer in the world. In fact, dancing puts me totally out of my comfort zone. I. HATE. DANCING! I'm not really sure why, maybe it is because you are totally allowing yourself to be vulnerable to every eyeball in the place. Maybe its because you have to let go and just dance...I'm not sure and I still couldn't tell you what it is about dancing that I hate so much, but just know I hate it. Well....I'm dating and in love with a young man who LOVES LOVES to dance! Mr. Jonathan Robert Peterson LOVES DANCING!!! Ironic right?? As soon as the tunes come on, he gives me that look---uh oh---grabs my hand and drags me on the dance floor. I'm watching him just let go and have a good time. Why can't I do that? I want to do that, but I'm embarrassed. Why isn't he embarrassed??? I want to let go and have a good time! God, sometimes I'm SOOO UPTIGHT!!!!!!! Jon is very persistent and patient with me and doesn't give up! I give in and finally let go (a little). We end up having a great night and essentially danced the night away. I want to say here, this is one of the many reasons why I love Jon, not to get all sappy, but he has the utmost patience and understanding for me. He brings me out of my comfort zone, and I like that. At one point during the evening, I looked around and most guys were on the "sidelines" watching their girlfriends grind all over each other, and then I looked around and saw Jon and a group of my friends dancing with me. Wait--my boyfriend is out here dancing??!? What the hell is wrong with me?! So, right then and there, I set a challenge and that challenge is to start liking to dance. I'm not sure if that means dance lessons, or what but I'm bound and determined to do something about this dance coma I'm in. More to come on that!

Anyway, bottom line, it was a great night. Enjoy the pics below...they are a little out of order, but just look at the captions!
