I just realized that traveling and using my iphone to blog wasn't as successful as I had hoped. Three of my blogs did not post, and I just realized it...so let me apologize for all of you avid readers out there who are loving my blog--ha ha I kid.
We woke early this morning to try and catch a 10:30am flight out of Denver into DFW. This means, that if want to try and make this flight, we would need to leave Emma's apartment around 6:30am for the two hour drive back to Denver. UGH! Talk about exhaustion! We got in the car early, drove two hours to Denver, got gas, dropped the rental off and rushed to our gate.
The flight was full and there was no chance we were going to get on it, which mean we would have to wait for the next flight, which turned into the next, and then we got on! We arrived in Dallas around 3:45pm and tried to catch a flight out to STL...this would have been too easy!
So you can guess what we did, sat down at the gate and people watched! I'm not much of a people watcher, but holy cow my mom is! I don't think it is possible to sit in an airport for 3 + hours and NOT people watch. It was quite the thrill, and super entertaining. I don't think I was judging these people, I was just interested in the fact that we were all at this airport going different places, having a different agenda, yet somehow we were sharing a space for a moment in time. The concept is still strange to me.
We finally got on the 7:25 flight to STL and were ecstatic! I will say here, that traveling stand-by is quite an adventure! It was a ton of fun, and I learned a lot about different airports and traveling. I don't think I'd mind doing it again...just for the adventure sake!
