Day 14-Hot Tubbin'

Don't guilt me, I know that I'm going to have three blogs from today, but like I said I already drafted this (mentally), so it counts!

Now here is the deal. The only time I've ever been in a hot tub has either been at a hotel, or someones apartment (which only happened once). I had NEVER been or seen a hot tub at someones house. I mean yes, I knew they existed, but I had never seen it. So, when Jon's mom asked him if we wanted to come over for dinner, and hot tubbin' I was stoked!

We got to Jon's mom's house and ate a steak dinner and then afterwards were escorted outside. Kirk and Maureen (Jon's mom and step-dad) had recently installed the hot tub as a wedding present. They put up these very private walls and created a calming environment to release all of your stresses. It. WAS. AWESOME! While we were in the hot tub, we were talking about how great it was and how often they used it and where they got the idea. Maureen said that when Max (Jon's dad) passed away, her sister and sister's husband said, "Life is too short! You Only Live Once. We've always wanted a hot tub, so we are getting a hot tub!"

I started thinking about this. Life is so precious. You really do only get one life, and you make it what you want of it. This whole concept of YOLO (you only live once) has been something I've been thinking a lot about, along with this quote my dad said to me," Hannah, over-analyzation leads to in-action." WOW---it is so TRUE! The more that people sit around and analyze every aspect of their life and what they should do in different circumstances, the more that time is just ticking away. I am in the process of adapting this lifestyle...keep posted!

Speaking of YOLO, and my wonderful Dad, today is Father's Day. Three years ago I spent Father's Day with my dad in the ICU at Missouri Baptist. I'm not going to go into too much detail, but lets just say that when I gave him his Father's Day card in the hospital he wasn't doing so well, but he held onto it with his hand, using the most strength he had. It is an image I will never forget. It is forever embedded in my memory bank as I time I want to remember. It makes me think about how precious life really is, how strong my family is, and how grateful I am that you are here today.
Happy Father's Day to the best dad a girl could ask for. Love you, Daddio!
