Day 13-Ballpark in the Rain

I suck. I know, I know. It's been a crazy weekend WITHOUT internet...there! That's my excuse!

I'm currently blogging for Saturday, I had a saved draft, (mentally) so technically I did blog! BOO YAH!

In February, a  friend of my moms and now a friend of mom asked me if I would babysit her three kids for a weekend while she and her husband would be out of town. I've gotten to know this kiddos quite well from the times I've babysat before. They also took Jon and I on a cruise in December to help watch the kiddos. Too much fun!

So on Friday I went over to their house and stayed until Sunday evening. It was a great weekend, and I'm glad I accepted the opportunity to go!

What I'm going to talk about today is Saturday. Jon was with me, so it was Jon, me, and the three kids. One of the kids had a baseball game, so we drove up to Manchester for his t-ball game. It was a weird feeling because it was kind of like a glimpse into our future. Anyway, we get to the game and it is sunny, hot, and HUMID! A typical June day in St. Louis. As we are sitting watching the baseball game, all of a sudden a HUGE rain cloud covers the field and it starts to downpour!!! Now, had this just been Jon and I we would have probably just gotten wet, or found some close shelter and run to it. But, it wasn't just Jon and I we had the two other kids with us too! We finally decided on a plan of action, and ran toward the pavilion. I was so concerned the kids were going to get wet and they were going to get sick, that I didn't enjoy the moment.

One of the two kids looks at me once under the pavillion and asks "Hannah banana (this is literally what they think my name is--so cute!) can I go splash and play in the rain?" It hit me, right then! Well yes! Of course! So she ran in the rain with her brother following her, and started splashing and having a grand time.

Why do I take life so seriously? Sometimes I  just need to live! Lesson learned!
