It all began with this quote:
Clark: Yeah, but I will have a degree, and you'll be serving my kids fries at a drive-thru on our way to a skiing trip.
Will: [smiles] Yeah, maybe. But at least I won't be unoriginal.
A couple of days ago my brother, dad, Jon, and I were going to Lowes to get some materials for all of our housing improvements. We were on our way home and my dad and Keithie started quoting a movie. Of course, when they start doing this I'm usually in the dark as to what movie they are quoting, so I inquired, "What movie are you quoting?" My dad looks at me baffled, "Hannah, are you serious right now?" Me, annoyed, "Yes dad, I don't know what you are talking about!" This started a conversation about how I HAD to see the movie, "Good Will Hunting". I know, I know I must live in a hole or something. I'm starting to realize this more in more when it comes to movies. Here's the thing, I LOVE movies, I just haven't seen a lot of what people would call the "classics."So, now I'm going to challenge myself to start seeing these classics. I know my family has a HUGE knowledge base on what movies I need to see, so I'm going to reach to them to compile my list, and then start crossing off movies as I go.
My dad came home, and announced to our family that we would be watching "Good Will Hunting" because Hannah had never seen it. I of course was stoked, because this just means i can cross one of the must-see movies off my list! We watched the movie and I must say it was great! I loved everything about it. Which means this whole compiling a list of classic movies thing is happening! No more of me being in the dark about movies people love. I want to contribute to conversations regarding the movies, not inquire about them!
I reach to you, wonderful readers. What movies do you recommend I read? No questions asked, your movie will soon go on my "Movies to Watch" list.
