When I first started this blog a little less than a month ago, one of my goals was to live a more healthier lifestyle. In 2006 when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer her doctor recommended Take Shape For Life to help her kick start her weight loss. She went on this diet for around 3-4 months and lost a TON of weight. So, when I wanted to start eating more healthy, and I wanted to fit into the bridesmaid dress at my brother's wedding. I decided a kick start was exactly what I needed!
I joined the program, got a health coach, bought some food and today marks a month of being on the diet. It is not the easiest diet in the world. No alcohol, no carbs, and no dairy make this diet quite challenging! This means I have not had any of these things for a month! If you would've asked me a month ago if I could survive without these things I literally would have laughed in your face! But here I am having survived this month without any of these things, and I'm feeling better than ever! I've lost a total of 15 lbs and still plan on losing 44 more pounds. This means I've still got at least two more months of dieting...I may switch to Weight Watchers at some point, but I feel that I'm doing pretty good with this program.
I haven't blogged about this diet yet because I wanted to see if I could actually make it for a month, and I have! I'm very excited about losing 15lbs but I still want to lose more and felt a little discouraged today when it's been a month and I've still only lost 15...but I'm not going to dwell on this, and instead be more happy that I've lost this weight in a months time. My mom told me to imagine 15 boxes of butter, sitting on the kitchen table, and this is how much weight has come off of me. Wow! There are four sticks of butter in ONE thing of butter, and I've lost 15 of those...HOLY COW!
I will keep you posted on my progress with this weight loss, but so far so good!
